Protecting our students. Supporting our families. Strengthening our community.

At Eastern York School District, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors is our highest priority. We are committed to fostering safe, supportive, and welcoming school environments where every student can learn, grow, and thrive.

School safety is a shared responsibility. Through prevention, preparedness, student support, and strong partnerships with families and our community, we work together to promote the physical, social, and emotional well-being of every student.

Explore the resources below to learn about school safety procedures, report concerns, access student health and wellness services, and find information to help keep your family safe.

Emergency Communication

The fastest way to get information in an emergency situation is use the ParentSquare App or your email for updates from the district or your school. Keep an eye on Eastern York School District website for alerts, and social media pages for additional updates.

The ParentSquare communication system uses what families enter into the Skyward Online Registration system for contact information. Families must ensure this information is always updated.

Important: Know Where to Turn for Help

Immediate Emergency: If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.

988 Crisis Support

  • See something concerning? Say something.

Students, families, staff, and community members all play an important role in school safety. If you observe concerning behavior, hear a threat, or become aware of information that could affect the safety or well-being of a student or school, please share that information with a trusted school staff member or appropriate school administrator.

Pennsylvania's Safe2Say Something program provides a way to anonymously report concerns about potential threats to the safety of students or others.

You do not need to determine whether a concern is serious on your own. Share what you know so the appropriate people can review the information and determine next steps.

    Ways to report a concern:

    • Online: Submit a Safe2Say Something Tip

    • By phone: 1-844-SAF2SAY (1-844-723-2729)

    • Directly to the school: Contact your child's school administrator or another trusted school staff member.

    • Immediate danger: Call 911.

Everyday School Safety

Small actions and consistent routines help contribute to safer school environments. Families can support school safety by reinforcing expectations and staying informed about district procedures.

We encourage families to:

  • Keep emergency contact information current with the district.

  • Follow school arrival, dismissal, transportation, and visitor procedures.

  • Review age-appropriate safety expectations with their children.

  • Encourage students to tell a trusted adult when something feels unsafe or concerning.

  • Follow official district communications and instructions during an emergency.

  • Report safety concerns promptly rather than assuming someone else has already reported them.

School Safety is a Shared Responsibility

At Eastern York School District, we believe safe schools ae built through preparation, communication, supportive relationships, and collaboration.

We encourage every member of our school community to stay informed, speak up when concerns arise, and partner with us to protect and support our students.

Together, we strive to make Eastern York a safe place to learn, work, and belong.
